The history of the car.

It is just one ownerfamily after Prince Bertil. He owned the car between 1973 and 1988 and he drove about 57000 km. Today (oct 2017) the car has been driven about 63000 km. Depending of the fantastic racing potential almost every Carrera RS have been rebuilt with other seats , steeringwheel and racingcages and so forth and became exposed to a very hard life. Many have been restored to flashing original look BUT almost everything has been replaced. It is so to say a quite different car compared to the one that left the plant 1973.

Rebuilding didn't interest the Prince at all. The car was handed over to us in a completely unscrewed original state. When driving very hard the engine worked perfectly but a little bit uncomfortably in the low range. Engines that are 30-40 years old always need new gaskets and seelings, and so in this case. The oil leaked on the exhaust pipes, resulting in heavy smoke from the car when it was started up in springtime. It was also noticed that the coupling plates seemed to be somewhat oil-laden.

We decided that the car would undergo a SUPER service. The well-known Porsche RS specialist ROOCK Leverkusen got the following assignments: Dismantle and check EVERYTHING and change wear and tear details in chassie and driveline. That's for exampel the engine, gearbox incl. gearshift, steering, wheel suspension and brakes. The car had only done 60000 km so it was basically only gaskets , seelings and a number of wear and tear items that were changed, all in accordance to the specification below.

With regard to bodywork and interior, everything is in incredibly fine original condition with very light patina. (Royal patina!). Michael Roock just wanted to polish the original lacquer and leave the interior untouched as he said: "IT IS THE FANTASTIC ORIGINALSTAND THAT MAKES THIS CAR WORLD UNIQUE"
